The fact is that getting results on Instagram requires a well-thought-out strategy. There’s nothing as painful as pouring your heart and soul into your content, only to watch it flop.

Even worse, to have followers but reach seems to be out of reach, as none of your followers see what you post.

Lucky for you, I’ve spent thousands of hours experimenting across many Instagram pages in different niches so you don’t have to.

If you know anything about me by now, you know I love Funnels. I’m a very strategic thinker, and when it comes to Instagram, I operate like an engineer.

Here’s a process I have hacked out to always explode my Story views.

It is a reliable ‘hacking’ strategy that forces the Instagram algorithm to show your Stories to more of your followers. If you do this right, the algorithm has no choice but to explode your views.

I tried this first on my page with 355,000 followers. My Story views shot up from a devastatingly low 1000+ views to over 21,000 views!

That’s a 2000% increase in reach at 6.27% conversion rate.

Then I applied the same strategy to my page with 61,000 followers. I went from 300 views per story post to more than 2800 views!!

That’s a reach increase of over 833% at 4.44% conversion rate.

But that’s not the best part.

This is good for you because the people who have not seen your Stories in a while will have you prioritized in their feed. Now all you have to do is leverage the new attention and continue to serve your audience.

Introducing the 2-Step Instagram Funnel: My Favorite Funnel for Getting More Reach, More Leads and More Sales on Instagram

The 2-step Instagram funnel is powered by a very strategic Manychat Funnel.

You’ve heard about Manychat by now because almost every creator is raving about the power of DM Automation.

Unfortunately, most creators do automation wrong. DM automation goes beyond just sending a link in the DM in a single message.

As you can see, I optimize Instagram Automations deeper than just a single link delivery.

But more on that in a second. Let’s talk about the strategy.

First, Understand How the Instagram Algorithm works

In simple terms, Instagram wants to keep people on the platform. If people spend time on your content, the algorithm believes it is good for others so it spreads it to more people.

Your only job is to create great content your audience is interested in, then hack the algorithm to show your content to more people.

Stop making these mistakes in your Instagram Stories

The mistake most creators make is they post too many stories at once. You’re not giving your audience enough time to go through your Stories.

Unfortunately, you’ll bore people and they will swipe away. When people swipe away it tells they algo that your Stories are not worth watching, hence low reach.

Another mistake is posting Stories every single day. Yes, I know the gurus have told you this is the right way, but it isn’t.

Stories last for 24 hours. Every 24 hours is a new cycle, with a new engagement score. If you post stories every single day, you’re not given your account time to reset itself.

The Metrics that count in Stories

Here’s what Instagram’s Story Algo wants to see to believe your Stories are worth spreading

Retention - If people are watching your Stories all the way, this is a good signal for the algorithm to push your content. This means if you post one single story, and everyone watches it through, you’ll get a lot of views. If you post 10 stories and people start swiping off at the 4th one, that’s not a good indicator.
Engagement - If people are interacting with you through Stickers, even better! It tells the algorithm that you’re keeping people entertained and Instagram likes that.
Replies - This is the most important one. When people send you REPLIES and messages from your Stories, you are golden! It raises all the algorithm alarms and tells the algorithm you’re encouraging conversations. Above all, the Replies to your Stories that bring people to DM you is the highest metric here.

Now, imagine we combine all 3 for a marketing combo that works every time!

2-Steps to Blow Up Your Stories Overnight!

You can do this with or without Manychat.

STEP 1

Start with going ghost. Don’t post on your Stories for a whole day. This will help reset your Story algorithm so you have a new engagement score.

If you can go for two days off, even better. When you post again you’ll be posting only 2 stories for the entire day and nothing more.

STEP 2

On posting day, you’ll deliver a Freebie to your audience.

You’ll make only 2 Story posts.

The first Story will be a hook with a Sticker. It can be general questions your audience can relate to with a simple Yes or No Poll that works well. Or a Quiz sticker that gets them thinking. The idea here is to get a reaction from your audience that leads to Slide 2.

The more shock value or scroll-stopping this first slide is, the better!

Then on Slide 2, you’ll be giving away a Freebie. Ask your audience to Reply your Story with a Keyword to get it. The more replies you get, the more engagement and reach your Stories will receive.

You can also skip slide 1 completely and only post a single story with the CTA to get your Freebie. I have done both and found that setting the stage for what they’re about to get from you is always a good idea.

In the past, I would send hundreds of DMs per day, manually responding to everyone. Today, DM automation tools make it so easy.
