“Can you believe that Covid was 3 years ago?” I said to a friend yesterday.
We both acknowledged that either time has sped up since Covid, or it’s always been running this fast.
Has it?
Exactly this time three years ago, the world had gone on lockdown.
Do you remember that?
The media reported that the new killer virus had spread across the globe. People were sick.
Hospitals filled up.
Airports had shut down.
People were afraid to sneeze or cough.
Yes. It’s been three years already since Covid 19 hit us hard.
Time flies doesn’t it?
This time in 2020, I had already started my online business.
I was only three months into my journey but I had already started making money from 1:1 coaching.
Even before the lockdowns, I had a strong belief that the future of education was online. This was exactly why I started my Instagram page in December 2019.
I wanted to grow an engaged audience so I could monetize with digital products.
In the blink of an eye, we were all quarantined and stuck on our phones.
With enough time now to think and reflect, people realized how shallow their lives had been.
They remembered the hobbies and skills they hadn’t taken the time to get.
They realized they now had time to read books, gain a skill, learn a new language, upgrade their financial intelligence, lose some weight, or start an online business.
And where did everybody go for information and entertainment during quarantine?
To the Internet.
It became obvious to everyone that although the world could shut down, the Internet will not.
But while everyone was afraid of falling ill, a more insidious virus was taking control of our minds.
Social media.
The addiction to social media rose by 100%.
I have never in my life seen more adoption of the Internet than I did in 2020!
And while the world was collapsing, the attention on the Internet was rising.
More people shopped online, danced on TikTok, enrolled in an online course, and even fell in love online.
But what stood out the most for me was watching most people seek out some type of online education.
If you sold an eBook, a course, or some type of coaching from 2020 to 2021, then you may have seen this as your best period yet.
I know I did.
I enrolled more students in my courses and sold more digital products.
Everyone was looking for a digital course to learn from. They still are.
As a knowledgepreneur myself, and someone who creates strategies to turn followers into buyers, I have seen firsthand how people have changed since 2020.
More people trust the Internet today.
Swiping credit cards and buying digital products online is becoming second nature.
Working from home has become a real thing.
Millions of people have quit their 9-to-5 and started some type of online business.
And more humans have found their Creative spark thanks to social media.
What we will continue to see is more and more adoption of the Internet.
If there’s anything the unfortunate pandemic of 2020 has taught me, it is that online education is here to stay.
The global online education market will hit a projected market value of $319 Billion by 2025.
This is 2023.
Between now and then, there will be millions of new coaches online, endless content, and all sorts of digital courses sold.
I’m reminded every day that time is moving fast.
Whether you do it or don’t do it, time will pass anyway.
If you’ve been procrastinating on growing your audience, sharing your knowledge, monetizing your skills, selling a digital product, or creating your online course, this is the reminder you needed today.
The question is, are you taking advantage?
We live in the most fortunate times my friends. Only 20 years ago, our parents had it much tougher.
With technology and almost limitless access to information, you have no excuse. The playing field has blown wide open. The opportunity is almost limitless.
We are witnessing a shift from the Information age to the Artificial Intelligence or the Experience age. Time will tell.
What you know as a human being will only become even more valuable. The time to start monetizing your knowledge is right now.
AI will only continue to take over more human tasks
As Artificial Intelligence continues to rise, guess what will become even more valuable?
Yes, you guessed it. Human stories and the human experience.
We will begin to seek out more and more information from our kind.
Humans.
And where would we seek them out? On the Internet.
The best thing you can do right now is obvious.
Make a decision to shift completely from being a consumer to being a Creator online.
Right now you must decide to create more than you consume.
Throw your weight behind growing your own audience. Make it a priority.
